Business ProfilePaul Summers is a consultant with more than 30 years’
experience in the formulation and implementation of strategies. PSPS provides
services in strategic planning, land use planning, corporate planning,
community consultation, statistical research and analysis, mapping research and
analysis and integration of data and policy. The consultancy:
|
·
Applies contemporary and advanced approaches to strategic thinking and
planning theory. |
|
·
Uses practicality in developing solutions to problems. |
|
·
Produces high level digital outcomes. |
|
·
Aims for client understanding of the outcomes and the data on which
the outcomes rely. |
The client focus of the consultancy is government and
community organisations. The philosophical approach is based on helping
organisations find their own way forward and providing assistance with
developing their own solutions. Paul believes better solutions arise when those
who live and work in their communities prepare and take responsibility for
implementing those solutions.
It is a small consultancy designed to give high quality
products, on budget and on time. Paul undertakes the majority of work, assisted
by Noela Summers and from time to time other specialist consultants.
The consultancy is based in the Sunshine Coast Regional
Council area (former Noosa Shire) the latter being renowned for its innovative
approaches to planning, design and community consultation. Paul contributed
strongly to this reputation, having responsibility for the preparation and
maintenance of its comprehensive planning documents during his 15-year
employment with Noosa Council.
Paul is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia
and the Queensland Environmental Law Association.
For more information on the services provided by PSPS, refer to the Key Services page.
Due to the volume of out-of-hours work needed by many of PSPS’s community-based clients, regular office hours are Tuesday-Friday each week.
PSPS operates on ecologically sustainability principles printing infrequently and with recycled paper; storing documentation digitally; shutting down computers and light systems when not in use; monitoring power usage; recycling paper, cartridges and other waste; combining vehicle trips wherever possible and using local businesses and suppliers wherever possible. In their spare time, Paul and Noela grow much of their own food, collect their own water; recycle much of their waste and undertake revegetation and waterway maintenance on their Cooroy property.
